Thanks so, so much. I always love reading what you think of my writing, and I will especially treasure these comments.

I worked really hard to try to make them separate people, even after the romance picks up. I'm so glad that you felt that worked--it's not just a matter of the age gap or the fact that James is more innocent...theologically, and socially, they are very different people (and James isn't less of a person just because she's younger!), and they're bound to have at least a bit of trouble interpreting each other's ideas. Thank you so much for picking up on that and letting me know how you felt about it. I truly appreciate the amount of detail you provide in your feedback.

The simple answer to your question is that all the scriptures were from the King James version. The more complicated answer is--maybe--more fun. I'm planning on doing an LJ post about the process of choosing scriptures and what "my" Aloysius thinks of them. It was an interesting process, because the version of the Bible I own and am more familiar with came out after the year the movie is set.
