So, I don't normally post directly to my dreamwidth account, but I periodically import my content from LJ. I'm not as diligent as I should be, nor have I been writing much fic, but I do like having all the stories on both sites. Most recently, I imported LJ content *right* after posting a new Doubt story to Livejournal. Then, a comment from Soukup on that entry left me wondering whether or not my entries are showing up on other people's reading pages. I understand that if I import something that's old, it'll show up under the correct date and therefore might not make it onto a reading page. However, shouldn't an entry posted and imported within an hour or so of each other show up just fine?

If you wouldn't mind checking to see if a) my entries are visible and b) if my Doubt story posted on the night of Monday the 25th shows up on your reading page, I'd be much obliged.

I can see this entry (the one I'm currently replying to) on my reading list, but the one containing A Good and Joyful Thing doesn't show up.

One thing I noticed once while reading the DW FAQ is that if you don't have automatic crossposting turned on and you want to crosspost an entry from DW to LJ, there are two ticky-boxes you need to check every single time you post an entry. They're in the space under the entry's main text as you post, right where the other buttons and drop-downs are for the post's settings (age restriction, privacy settings, previewing option, etc). Boxes are ticked?

I personally think the issue was with LJ. Right about the time you did the import thing, LJ's servers went down under another DDoS, which triggered panic importing from LJ to DW. Your post was not the only one not to appear on my friends' page, and the commonality between 3 absent posts is that they were imported from LJ.

DW has been slow due to a tech-y issue that I'm clueless about, but the two issues, LJ's and DW's, kicked into life at about the same time.

In other words, blame the tech! Tisn't your fault.
